Reaksmey Chanreas Hotel

 

2015:  I was not happy with the hotel I chose online. When I arrived in Siem Reap, I walked around the corner from where I was to stay and found Reaksmey had a room available. It was only $25 per night and I was staying four nights. The front desk staff showed me the room before I committed. I was very happy with what I saw and the fact that they had a room safe which is very important to me. The hotel also arranged a tuk tuk driver for me. He was ok but more expensive than what I am use to paying. Regardless of this tuk tuk driver, I would definitely stay at Reaksmey again. It is one block from the night market and directly across Sivatha from the Pub Street.

2017:  Based on my previous experience here, I booked again for my most recent trip.  The room this time was on the second floor.  The hotel has no elevator but the staff will help you bring your bags up.  This room was also near the front of the hotel.  This turned out to be a problem as Pub street establishments are open later now and the intriduction of bar trucks blast music all night.  It was so bad that after 2 nights I had to find a new hotel.  This is a good hotel if you are into the party seen of Siem Reap.  If you want some peace and quite, don’t stay near the center of town.
