Another small temple but of special significance. This is one of the few temples in Chiang Mai made completely of Teak Wood panels and is still standing. The difference from the other Wat’s is almost immediate, especially when you you step inside the temple. Large teak columns support the roof. It is also not as ornate as many of the other temples around Chiang Mai. But some modernization has come to Wat Phan Tao. There is a newly constructed/renovated Chedi and what appears to be a faux river. There is a bathroom on site behind the temple. The temple serves as the living quarters for the monks of Wat Chedi Luang, which is right next door. There were quite a few Monks walking about.
