While this is a small temple, it was one of my favorites. The temple was built in 1501. The chedi is a brilliant gold color with a small Buddha statue encased at the base. There is a large gong in front and several bells. Buddhist and tourists are welcome to ring the bells and hit the gong. Just be respectful. One ring or hit the the gong is sufficient.
The temple seemed to be more ornate than others. The doors and windows have beautifully carved figures. Inside is a large golden Buddha. If you want to see several Wat’s, this should be on of them. It was quiet and beautiful.
Directions: Located at the southeast corner of Rachadamneon Rd and Rachapakinai Rd in the old city. Only a few minutes walk fro the Tha Phae Gate.
